Their last outing was in 2003 when Rinaldo Capello, Guy Smith and the legendary Tom Kristensen, driving the Bentley Speed 8, won the most prestigious race of them all, the Le Mans 24 Hours. Some claim just a rumour, Bentley boss Wolfgang Durheimer says ‘it is a good idea’, but Prescott Motorsport has learnt we could see the iconic British marque return for t

2016 Audi R18 e-tron Quattro - testing at Sebring
The latest turbodiesel LMP1 racer to carry the R18 e-tron quattro name will race in the six megajoule hybrid sub-class next year rather than the 4MJ division in which it competed in 2015. Audi has abandoned the flywheel energy storage or mechanical battery system used since the arrival of the first R18 hybrid in 2012 in favour of a lithium-ion battery, the same technology used by 2015 WEC champion Porsche. The move to 6MJ should put the Audi on a par in terms of the Equ

A "Total" change for Aston Martin Racing in 2016?
The iconic Gulf livery colours originated with the Gulf Oil Corporation in 1967, when its Vice President, Grady Davis, entered his own GT40 as an independent at both Daytona and Sebring. Originally the car was finished in the standard Gulf Oil colours of dark blue with orange trim, during this year Ford USA withdrew from sports car racing and in turn Gulf Oil corp. took over the sponsorship of the newly created GT40 team – John Wyer Automotive Engineering. FIA WEC LMP1 drivers championship going down to the wire.
Porsche may have been crowned 2015 WEC LMP1 manufacturers winners, but the race for the drivers Championship is going down to the wire in the desert. At The Bahrain International Circuit, with a twelve point difference between the No. 17 Porsche of Bernhard, Hartley and Webber and the 7 Audi of Lotterer, Treluyer and Fassler, it's all to play for. With 1 DNF for the drivers of car 17 at the opening round at Silverstone, an otherwise 100% top three finish rate for both c

Return of the rotary engine to Le Mans, in garage 56
During the 85th edition of the 24h of Le Mans in 2017 the rotary engine will return to this legendary track, more than 25 years after it has been banned from endurance racing. The Hybrid IM01 racecar will use a rotary engine as range-extender in order to complete the 24 hours. Because the rotary engine will be used as a generator, it can be tuned in such a way that it always runs in its optimal operation point. This results in a tremendous reduction in fuel consumpti

F1 and GP2 Sochi incidents
So Sochi... anyone else get that feeling that something else is going to happen? I said that just before the GP2 race started.... I have been looking at the Sainz crash and the way that the Tecpro barrier reacted and how the car was able the travel under the blocks. After some digging around the blocks do not need to be fixed down nor fixed at the end of the runs, but are all interconnected. I would assume the reason they are not fixed at either end it to allow the "chai

Concept, Fantasy, Reality
Is this the real life? is this just Fantasy? Its hard to tell these days.... the growth of CGI has started to take hold in the world of fantasty prototype racers - but is this a bad thing, I would suggest not, as these enthuse the fans as to what could be done and shows the manfactures what should be done such, as this creation for a Corvette prototype keeping with the front engine idea. And how about a returning marque to the LMP1 class, Mercedes, very similar looks
