Strakka Racing announces 14 driver line-up for Blancpain GT Series challenge
Strakka Racing’s 2017 comprehensive 14 driver line-up will blend experience and young talent as it embarks on its first year in the Blancpain GT Series. Alongside highly experienced sportscar drivers and rising stars from McLaren’s GT Driver Academy, the Silverstone-based team will also run single seater and touring car converts across its quartet of 650S GT3s in its bid to retain McLaren’s GT crown. More Green from Falken for Green Hell....
In the new racing season, Falken will line up on the grid with not one, but two racing cars from premium German manufacturers. Last year saw the debut of the Falken Porsche 911 GT3 R (Type 991), which simultaneously scooped the title of fastest Porsche in the 24h-Race on Nürburgring and ended up in ninth place overall. British GT Championship Media day 2017, Snetterton
Next season’s British GT Championship Media Day will take place at Snetterton on Tuesday 28 March. The Norfolk venue, which also hosted 2016’s pre-season gathering, will welcome back a wide variety of GT3 and GT4 machinery less than three weeks before Oulton Park stages the 25th campaign’s opening round on April 15 & 17. Tordoff ‘jumps ship’ to partner Griffin aboard Barwell Lamborghini
2016 BTCC runner-up Sam Tordoff will switch his attention to sportscars next season after being announced alongside Liam Griffin in the second of Barwell Motorsport’s British GT-entered Lamborghini Huracan GT3s. Flying Lizard and Toyo Tires Add Porsche to Thunderhill Campaign
Flying Lizard Motorsports has announced the addition of a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR to its NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill presented by Hawk Performance roster with Toyo Tires. The new arrival will join the 2015 race winning Audi R8 LMS, complete with a matching blue and white Toyo Tires/Flying Lizard livery. Pablo Pérez Companc seen testing at Sebring
Former Chip Ganassi Racing driver Pablo Pérez Company has been spotted testing the $1.5 million Pagani Zonda at the Sebring Raceway in Florida. Pablo signed with Chip Ganassi Racing for 2007 in the Indy Pro Series. In his first race for the team at Homestead-Miami Speedway he made contact with Sean Guthrie's car on lap 47. His car launched over Guthrie and into the catch fence where the footbox of his car was sheared off, resulting in what an observer termed as "gruesome"
