The championship, which is now in its 26th year, launched officialy this year at Donington Park this weeks Media Day. The entry list has had to be capped to 36 cars because of pitlane restrictions at certain circuits. However tracks like Silverstone and the annual trip to Spa-Francorchamps have greater capacity so more cars are likely to join for these events.
Within these 36 entries there will be 13 GT3s and 23 GT4's cars. Within this there are 10 different manufacturers that will be represented. In the GT3 class the likes of Aston Martin, Bentley, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG and Nissan will be going for the outright title. There will also be a total of seven works drivers competing in the GT3s.
Barwell Motorsport has expanded its squad to three Lamborghini Huracans as they defend their GT3 Teams' title.
The GT4 class continues to grow. This year the likes of BMW, Jaguar and Mercedes-AMG join Aston Martin, Ginetta, McLaren, Nissan and Toyota. All this means that for 2018 there will be 23 cars and eight manufacturers across 14 teams.
HHC Motorsport, Teams' and Drivers' GT4 champions in 2017, have added to their ranks with another Ginetta. They are though without their Drivers' championship pairing of Will Tregurtha and Stuart Middleton as they have moved to the GT4 European Series for 2018.
Century Motorsport are still to announce their second BMW GT4 pairing, along with the Stellar Performance and its Toyota GT86s. Richardson Racing who will be running a Mercedes-AMG GT4 have also yet to announce their line-up.
