90 Seconds with Will Tregurtha

What would you be if not a racing driver?

When I was younger I talked about being a marine biologist but then I got really into karting and racing. I guess now if I wasn't a driver I would still be looking at working in the racing industry. I like the technical side of making a car go fast.

Do you have any pre-race superstitions?

None. I would rather focus on what I need to do to win and enjoy what I am doing.

What is your favourite racing circuit?

At the moment, Knockhill. The chicane is a lot of fun.

Who do you admire the most?

I would have to say Fernando Alonso because of his absolute commitment and dedication to his racing - and how he has dealt with last year at McLaren. Plus he is extremely fast.

Favourite food?

Salmon or prawns, just fish in general really.

Which other series would you like to race in?

WEC, because the cars are fast, the racing is hard and the LMP1 cars are so impressive.

What road car would you like to own?

At 16 - I'm not old enough to drive yet ;) But I would say a Mazda RX-7. I'm a big fan of the rotary engine and the looks of the RX-7 are great.
I tell you something - it would NOT be a Prius like dad's. It sounds like a milk float! Drives like one too. The Japanese Super GT version looks fun though ...

Most memorable racing moment?

Would have to be the Ginetta Juniors at Snetterton last year. Coming from 17th in qualifying to 4th at the end of the two races was special. It was hard work but we really proved what we could do. The onboard video of me driving through a big cloud of tyre smoke at turn two to come out third from tenth is entertaining.

Do you have any tattoo's, if so what and where (be honest we won't tell!)?

Not yet, but I would like to have some in the future. And she doesn't mind ;)
