Toyota to launch the TS050 on the 24th March
The new TS050 HYBRID will wear the numbers 5 and 6 in the 2016 World Endurance Championship, it was confirmed.
In a press conference in Paris, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest confirmed all entries for WEC and the Le Mans 24 Hours, including race numbers.
That means that in 2016, Anthony Davidson, Sébastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima will race the #5 TS050 HYBRID while Stéphane Sarrazin, Mike Conway and Kamui Kobayashi compete in the #6.
It is the first time that a TOYOTA will wear these numbers at Le Mans.
Today’s press conference also confirmed that the team’s identity change comes into force, with 2016 the first season when TOYOTA GAZOO Racing will be listed as the official team name in all WEC documents.
The launch of the TS050 will come on the 24th March, during the WEC Prologue at the Paul Riccard Circuit.
