Hankook 24H Dubai 2017, already 70 entries!!
For motorsport fans all over the world, the Hankook 24H DUBAI has already built up a very strong reputation, right up there with the other classic endurance races. Next year’s event at Dubai Autodrome will take place from January 12 till 14, 2017, serving as the season-opener of the 2017 24H SERIES powered by Hankook. Even before 2016 has reached its halfway point, no less than 65 teams have already signed up to race in the Hankook 24H DUBAI next January. “This year’s race was our biggest event to date: for the first time, we had a capacity grid and we even had to work with a waiting list for the first time. Interest for next year’s race is accordingly big and we are quite happy to have almost 70 entries already,” says Helen Roukens on behalf of CREVENTIC. The Dutch agency is the promoter and organiser of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook in co-operation with the Dutch National Racing Team (DNRT).
For many European teams and drivers, the race in Dubai has become a great opportunity to flee the cold winter and enjoy some sunshine and warm temperatures in the Middle East. Also teams and drivers from all other parts of the world love to come to Dubai for its vibrant atmosphere, its great circuit with excellent facilities and its typical Arab hospitality. With 44 touring cars and 56 GTs, this year’s race attracted a good mix of cars and the organisers again aim at a good balance between the two categories for the 2017 event. “The 24H SERIES powered by Hankook has always been for both GTs and touring cars, with a focus on gentlemen drivers, and that will remain so,” Helen Roukens emphasises.
While no major changes are expected in the technical and sporting regulations of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook for the 2017 season, the popular and usual live coverage features for the 2017 24H DUBAI powered by Hankook will remain in place.
