FIA WEC: JOTA to run the Porsche 963 in a collaboration with Hertz & Singer Group
Today it has been announced that JOTA will compete with the newly announced Porsche 963 next season after confirming a deal in a collaboration with Hertz.
Hertz announced today that it is sponsoring a brand new Porsche race-car for the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), which includes the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours. From 2023 to 2025, Hertz will be the title sponsor of a new Porsche 963 LMDh race-car.
Singer Group and the recently crowned Le Mans LMP2 winner JOTA will join the new team. Singer Group will serve as the team's sponsor, and JOTA will manage the team, crew, and drivers on race day.
NASCAR, MotoGP, rallying, and other sports-car races have all been sponsored by Hertz in the past. WEC participation marks a new chapter in the company's involvement with premium motorsports experiences.
Singer Vehicle Design is an American company that modifies Porsche 911s. Rob Dickinson founded it, who won a Grammy award for his work as frontman and guitarist of the English rock band Catherine Wheel. It is headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Its main product is a "re-imagined" Porsche 911, which is a heavily modified Porsche 964 coupe or Targa.
Much of the bodywork has been replaced with carbon fiber body panels, and the engine has been reworked by engine manufacturers such as Cosworth, Ed Pink Racing Engines and Williams to produce significantly more power.

With this new team, we will be in a very strong position to keep our momentum going when sportscar racing truly enters a golden period in 2023."
