FIA WEC: FP2 6 Hours of Spa 2022
The early morning peace was broken by the sounds of racing cars crackling around the Ardennes as the FIA World Endurance Championship roared into life for the second Free Practice session.
Felipe Nasr in the No. 5 Penske LMP2 topped the 37 car field in this morning's FP2 session, just ahead of Olivier Pla in the No. 708 Glickenhaus Hypercar.
Setting a time of 2:04.443 Nasr placed the Penske run Oreca 07 Gibson on top of the timing screens 14 laps into it 31 lap run, posting an average speed around the much changes circuit of 202.6 Kph.
Fastest in the Hypercar field was the No. 708 Glickenhaus os Olivier Pla with the same average speed, but 0.019 behind the Penske.
Porsche led Ferrari in the GTE-Pro classification courtesy of a 2:14.366 effort from Michael Christensen aboard the No. 92 Porsche 911 RSR-19.
In GTE-AM, Matteo Cairoli once again topped the timing screen with a 2:15.604 in the Team Project 1 Porsche.
The session was ended early under red flag due to the No. 98 Aston Martin of Paul Dalla Lana taking an excursion through the gravel trap at Stavelot.
