António Félix da Costa made it back-to-back victories in Madrid's inaugural Formula E race, executing another masterful performance to secure victory at Circuito del Jarama. The Portuguese driver started from third and timed his pit boost perfectly to surge ahead, holding off pressure from teammate Mitch Evans to claim a contentious but deserved Jaguar one-two.

Madrid delivered the sort of racing that has defined the 2025-26 season. The tight final quarter of a second separating the top four drivers said everything about the balance achieved by the Gen3 Evo platform. Da Costa's ability to execute strategy in real time proved crucial, particularly his decision to pit early and take attack mode late in the race.
The win put da Costa firmly in championship contention and sparked debate within the Jaguar camp about team strategy. Evans, who felt he had the pace to win, was left frustrated by the outcome. The margin of victory was razor-thin, with less than 0.4 seconds separating first and second at the line.
Wehrlein, carrying damage from an early incident, salvaged third place and valuable points to maintain his championship aspirations as the season entered its second phase in Berlin. Madrid's inaugural event proved a resounding success, with the circuit delivering the technical challenge and spectacular racing that Formula E's organisers had hoped for.
