British GT Media Day

The 2024 season kicked off at a damp Donington Park for the official Media Day.


A wet morning greeted the runners and riders for the 2024 British GT Championship with the majority of the 36 and 72 drivers cars present.



The GT3 class has 19 entries spread across both Pro-Am and Silver-Am, with 7 crews in the latter category a record for the Championship.


In GT4 the Pro-Am class has is now the most popular with 10 entries and Silver has 7 crews, a switch from previuos years.


Across both classes a total of 10 manufacturers are represented. The new Aston Martin GT3 Vantage makes it's debut, while its little brother is also in GT4 along with the new Ford Mustang, Ginetta G56 EVO and the Lotus Emira.



The GT3 Championship hosts several champions, Jonny Adam, Rob Collard, Andrew Howard, Ian Loggie and Sandy Mitchell. All these pairings feature fast formidable team-mates so should make great racing. Phil Keen is looking to finally land the title after finishing runner-up for the past few years. Former GT3 Champion Seb Morris is now in GT4 and looking to add a GT4 crown to his tally.


Defending champions Erik Evans and Matt Cowley will be looking retain their title, but both are now in different teams with new team-mates. Former champions Matt Nicoll-Jones and Dan Vaughan will be looking to add another title to their names.



Factory drivers of Raffaele Marciello, Maximillian Goetz and Tom Gamble add to the mix along with Jessica Hawkins, the Aston Martin F1 Ambassador. Former BTCC driver Ricky Collard joins the grid along with Porsche Carrera Cup GB Champion Adam Smalley.


The season begins at Oulton Park over the Easter Weekend.
