2017 ROAR Before the 24
The first weekend in January 2017 was a milestone for many. Not that long ago at Daytona International Speedway (DIS), this weekend was considered a “test” running for race teams returning later in the month for the Rolex 24 race event. Years later, the weekend has developed into the “ROAR before the 24” with the attendance steadily growing. IMSA - Women in Motorsports
Saturday between the afternoon and night practice sessions of The Roar, IMSA held a “Women in Motorsports” panel hosted by Shea Adam, pit reporter for IMSA radio and Radio Le Mans, and attended by Jessica Mace, sports car mechanic with Chip Ganassi Racing, Katherine Legge, driver of the #93 Honda Acura NSX car with Michael Shank Racing, and Christina Nielsen, driver of the #63 Ferrari 488 GTE car with Scuderia Corsa. Katherine and Christina are both competing in the GTD class


Neel Jani.... Again.... Session 5
Neel Jani once again tops the timing sheets in the night session 5 at The Roar, wonder if there is a prize on offer for topping all sessions?? Full results can be found here .


Roar Before The 24, Session 4
Once again Neel Jani in the number 13 Rebellion Racing Oreca topped the timing sheets, closely followed by Tristen Nunez in the number 55 Mazda only 0.140 seconds behind. Full results can be found here.


Daytona Roar Before The 24 - Session 2
Neel Jani in the Rebellion Racing number 13 Oreca topped the timing sheets in the P class, in PC Johnny Mowlem topped the class in the number 26 BAR1 Motorsports. While in GT Le Mans Dirk Müller was placed in 1st in the 66 Ford, and in GT Daytona Andrew Davis in the Stevenson Motorsport Audi number 57. Full results can be found here .

Vickie caught you with Max, in rather a noisy garage!! The Sunoco 200 Challenge is run by Anglo American Oil Company Ltd. and provides the winner with a race seat in the Sunoco liveried Mustang Boss 305R. Also included is travel, accommodation and a Sunoco 200 Challenge race suit. The winner will race in the 200 mile long BMW Performance 200 race on the Friday before the iconic 2017 Rolex 24 At Daytona. As well as that, the driver who wins the challenge gains the full Americ

LMP1 From Ginetta for the 2018 WEC
With todays news from Ginetta that they are to produce 10 LMP1 cars for the 2018 season does this show the start of the "customer" LMP1 range? Ginetta has a longstanding relationship with the ACO, having been the founding manufacturer of the hugely successful LMP3 class in 2015. Despite their contemporaneous LMP2 chassis bid being unsuccessful, the Ginetta design team has remained a powerful force in prototypes, moving toward P1 spec having released the powerful G57 in 2016.


Ginetta Announce New LMP1 Chassis For 2018 FIA World Endurance Championship
Ginetta has today (4 January 2017) announced they will be a LMP1 chassis manufacturer for the 2018 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The announcement comes on the back of the announcement of Automobile Club de l’Ouest’s (ACO) new 2017 LMP1 rules. British GT Championship Media day 2017, Snetterton
Next season’s British GT Championship Media Day will take place at Snetterton on Tuesday 28 March. The Norfolk venue, which also hosted 2016’s pre-season gathering, will welcome back a wide variety of GT3 and GT4 machinery less than three weeks before Oulton Park stages the 25th campaign’s opening round on April 15 & 17. Dieter Gass to become new Head of Audi Motorsport
Scheduled change at the helm of Audi Sport: Effective January 1, 2017, after 23 years of service, Head of Audi Motorsport Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich (66) will hand over this post to his successor, Dieter Gass (53). Dr. Ullrich will remain with Audi in an advisory role until the end of 2017. At the beginning of 2012, Head of Motorsport Dr. Ullrich persuaded Gass, who has a Diploma degree in electromechanical engineering, to return to Audi with the aim of grooming him as his success

Creventic announce their 2017 calendars
Now that the 2017 season is approaching quickly, Dutch agency CREVENTIC has finalised its planning. As a result, the calendars for all CREVENTIC endurance race series powered by Hankook can be announced. The 24H SERIES powered by Hankook includes seven rounds in six countries on three continents. The 24H TCE SERIES powered by Hankook has five races in as many European countries and the inaugural 24H PROTO SERIES powered by Hankook has four events in four different countries.


An FIA World Championship title for GTE
A meeting of the FIA World Motorsport Council was held today in Vienna, Austria. At this occasion the creation of the FIA World Endurance Championship for GTE Drivers and Manufacturers title was announced for 2017. As a reminder, four manufacturers - Ferrari, Aston Martin, Ford and Porsche - are already entered in the WEC. TDS RACING TO JOIN THE WEC IN 2017
PIC TDS RACING After six seasons in the European Le Mans Series, finishing runner up in the LMP2 championship three times in the last four years, TDS Racing now plans to add an FIA WEC programme to its ELMS entry for 2017 (*subject to admission by the Selection Committee). Tordoff ‘jumps ship’ to partner Griffin aboard Barwell Lamborghini

Flying Lizard Motorsports has announced the addition of a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR to its NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill presented by Hawk Performance roster with Toyo Tires.
