Volvo announce their Le Mans Hypercar entry for 2023
Swedish manufacturer have announced their intention to run in the Hypercar class at the 2023 Le Mans 24 race. In their authentic livery its no surprise that Ikea will be their title sponsor.
Its understood that the team plan to bring the car to La Sarthe in an unusual way, rather than using polluting HGV's, the team plan to carry parts of the car with them as they travel down from Sweden and then assemble the car once in France. Its understood that the various parts will be located within a giant warehouse, and they hope that no parts will be missing
This innovative solution also means a reducing in specialist tools required by the mechanics, just using a range of keys to service the main parts of the car.
Its a possibility that the lead driver in the car will be Marcus Ericsson, with the other 2 places being taken by by 2 drivers voted for by the public in a Eurovision style drive off.
