Struan Moore looks ahead to Blancpain Endurance Series debut
Jersey born Struan Moore has immediately impressed team bosses following the conclusion of pre-season testing in Monza. The McLaren GT Academy ace will line up alongside Alex Fontana and Andrew Watson in the #59 McLaren 650S GT3 machine when he takes to the grid at the same track. 2016 marks a significant year for Struan, who graduated through single seaters with Lanan racing in BRDC F4 before making a move to Japanese F3 with KCMG before switching to sportscars and landing a highly prized seat with McLaren GT customer team, Garage 59, and a place within the McLaren GT Academy program.
"Last weeks test at Monza marked the final day of pre-season preparation ahead of round 1 in the Blancpain Endurance Series. It's my first time sharing a car with 2 other guys this year so the running is limited which has made every lap count through winter. I feel we've really gelled well as a team and made strong progress since our first day testing. For me the test at Monza was very successful, it was my first time there but by the end of it I had learnt a lot and I feel ready for round 1. It'll be a special moment to race on this historical track as part of the McLaren GT academy, I'm focused and eager to get going."
