OC ENDS 2017 SEASON WITH THE RACE OF REMEMBRANCE
Tom Onslow-Cole will finish his successful 2017 season at Anglesey Circuit in North Wales, where he will compete in the Mission Motorsport Race of Remembrance in one of two Milltek Sport Toyota GT86s.
It’s the fourth year of running for the Race of Remembrance, a 12-hour race that brings together ex-servicemen and women to compete for class and/or overall honours, and OC has offered his support in every event. “I’ve seen first-hand how Mission Motorsport has benefitted those who have sacrificed so much and I think it’s important that we give back by attending and promoting the event,” commented OC. “The Race of Remembrance is a very humbling event and can remind us of what motorsport can really bring to people’s lives – a family-like support network that comes together for a shared passion.” The race takes place on Anglesey Circuit on the island of Anglesey in North Wales. More than 50 cars will compete across six classes and Milltek Sport will enter two race-prepared Toyota GT86s. “We’ve raced the Toyota GT86 at the Nürburgring all season and they are awesome race cars,” OC continued. “They are rear wheel drive and very light so if we get some of the typically Welsh wet weather we’re going to have a lot of fun!” Although the team hasn’t confirmed who will drive in each car, Tom will be reunited with previous team-mates Lucian Gavris, who OC raced with on the Nürburgring this year, and Josh Caygill, with whom OC contested the Dubai 24 Hours in 2014. The trio will be joined by Chris Chadwick, who has raced in European GT4, VLN and the Mazda MX5 Cup UK. “I can’t wait to get back with the Milltek Sport crew and race for a really good cause,” concluded OC. “The standard of the event gets better each year and I’m really looking forward to a fun and competitive weekend to finish off my season.” The Race of Remembrance takes place across the 11th and 12th November and includes a break for an emotional Remembrance Sunday service at 11am.
