Hills alive with the sound of WEC!
There is just under a week to go until the Ardennes will be ‘alive with the sound of WEC’… and we can’t wait!
The iconic 4.35 mile circuit of Spa-Francorchamps is sure to provide us with thrills and spills as it always does, and no doubt a good dose of rain somewhere along the way! Race two out of nine on the WEC calendar, Spa is a firm favourite and one of the most picturesque circuits there is (our opinion but I’m sure thousands will agree).
If you’ve never been there is still time to book your crossing and head over, or under, the Channel, and with Spa being just over three and a half hours from Calais, you could easily do it after work on a Friday! With the race being held on the Saturday, you can enjoy a few beers during the race, dinner of moules-frites, or for those who really enjoy their Belgium cuisine a nice portion of chips and mayo, a few more beers (oh Belgium has many!), bed down for the night and head home Sunday, ready and refreshed for the Monday morning slog!
The 6hrs of Spa-Francorchamps will see Toyota Gazoo Racing unleash the #9 TS050 HYBRID of Sarrazin, Kunimoto and Lapierre as they ready themselves for the next ‘big one’, June’s 24 Heures du Mans - Spa has become known as the pre-Le Mans shakedown!
A healthy grid of 30 cars, 3 more than we saw at Silverstone, will set off at 1430 on Saturday 6th May… set your clocks and DO NOT MISS the 6hrs of Spa-Francorchamps!
