Gunn, Heart of Racing Sprint to Lime Rock Pole

Ross Gunn has claimed the pole for Saturday's FCP Euro Northeast Grand Prix. The No. 23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 driver stormed to the top spot Friday afternoon claiming the top spot for the GT-only WeatherTech SportsCar Championship round. Gunn, an Aston Martin factory driver, blistered the field with a lap of 50.593 to beat the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 of Jack Hawksworth by almost two tenths of a second.


Third in GTD-Pro went to the No. 3 Chevrolet Corvette C8.R GTD of Antonio Garcia followed by the No. 79 WeatherTech Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Jules Gounon. Rounding out the top five in GTD-Pro was the No. 9 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R of Patrick Pilet. All five GTD-Pro entries set lap times that were faster than anyone in the GTD class.





Taking the pole in GTD was Mike Skeen in the No. 32 Team Korthoff Motorsports Mercedes AMG-GT3 Evo. His lap time of 51.157 was only 0.007 seconds ahead of the No. 70 Inception Racing McLaren 720S GT3 Evo of Frederik Schandorff. Rolling off third in the GTD class is the No. 78 Forte Racing by US RaceTronics Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 of Misha Goikhberg while the No. 27 The Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 of Roman De Angelis will start in fourth. The No. 12 Vasser Sullivan Lexus of Frankie Montecalvo rounds out the top five and will start in fifth.


The FCP Euro Northeast Grand Prix begins at 12:10 p.m. EDT and can be seen on the USA Network and heard live on IMSA Radio.
