Ginetta to launch their LMP1 challenger at the Autosport Show

British based racing car manufacturer and championship organiser, Ginetta, is set to launch its LMP1 car at Autosport International in January.

A regular to the show, Ginetta announced its entry into the LMP1 marketplace in January 2017, committing to a production run of ten chassis and targeting sales to a trio of two-car teams for the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

The Leeds-based company has already secured its first orders, announcing Manor and TRS, as well as an as-yet-unnamed second team as customers for the 2018/19 WEC season, including Le Mans 24 hours.

The Ginetta LMP1, designed by a world class team coordinated at its Yorkshire base, will be unveiled on the first day of the show, Thursday 11th January, on stand 6430. Technical Director Ewan Baldry’s in-house team has been bolstered by a range of world-class contractors and consultants including Adrian Reynard, Paolo Catone and aerodynamicist Andy Lewis, with technical partners Williams Advanced Engineering, XTrac, Ohlins, ARS (chassis and composites), AP Racing, Megaline, Bosch and AVL Racing (Simulation) all playing vital roles in the design, development and construction of the new car.

Throughout the 2018 show, Ginetta will be showcasing the breadth of it’s involvement in motorsport, from the Ginetta Racing Driver’s Club (GRDC) through to LMP1. Featuring not only a selection of cars and merchandise on stand, but also a GRDC race in the Live Action Arena which is sure to have fans on the edge of their seats.

Lawrence Tomlinson, Ginetta Chairman, said: “I am delighted to be launching the Ginetta LMP1 car at Autosport International. The show represents the ideal environment to introduce our latest model to the media, industry and fans who are the lifeblood of British motorsport. Not only that, but we’ll be using the show to demonstrate the Ginetta motorsport ladder in action, with our Ginetta Racing Drivers Club putting on a show in the Live Action Arena!”

Autosport International Show Director Kate Woodley said: “We’re thrilled that Ginetta has chosen Autosport International to unveil its LMP1 car. With such a longstanding relationship between us, we can’t wait to see the company’s latest project in the metal and help them share this great addition to their range with the wider industry.”
