In the wake of its entry into Formula 1 (Renault will be rebranded Alpine in 2021), Alpine will also enter the pinnacle of endurance racing next season. From 2021, it will compete in the LMP1 category of the FIA World Endurance Championship. The team will use the Oreca chassis and a Gibson engine, much like the Rebellion team uses now. The driver line-up and colour scheme will be presented in the coming months.

The alliance between Alpine and Signatech made its debut in 2013 and has won the LMP2 class at Le Mans three times. It also won the LMP2 title twice.
