FIA WEC: AF Corse successfully appeals Shanghai disqualification

Text & Images: Rick Kiewiet

In the run up to this weekends' Lone Star Le Mans at Circuit of the Americas, AF Corse was handed back its victory in last November's 4h of Shanghai. The International Court of Appeal (ICA) of the FIA decided "to set aside the contested decision" (that stated that the Ferrari 488 GTE EVO did not adhere to the minimum 50mm ride height rule).

As a result, James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi move up from 6th to 2nd in the championship, right behind Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen in the Aston Martin Vantage. Bruni and Lietz follow at 3 points behind in the factory Porsche 911 RSR.
