FALKEN heads to the VLN starting-grid with two German premium manufacturers

Two car entry for tyre manufacturer at VLN race this weekend.

The ninth VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft (Endurance Championship) round held at Nürburgring this Saturday, will be the first race where FALKEN Motorsports will enter two GT3 cars. A new BMW M6 GT3 will join the familiar, tried-and-tested Porsche 911 GT3 R from the team’s stable.

“For FALKEN, this event will be a test under racetrack conditions,” explains Markus Bögner, managing director, Falken Tyre Europe.“We are delighted to be fielding another race car from a German premium marque at this round of the VLN. Racing another GT3 car will assist our engineers to advance our tyre development.”The 585hp V8 coupe will be driven by FALKEN driver Alexandre Imperatori (Switzerland) and BMW works driver Philipp Eng (Austria). The Porsche, which came third in its last race, will be driven by Wolf Henzler (Nürtingen) and his Porsche works colleague Frédéric Makowiecki (France).

The DMV 250-Mile Race starts at 12 noon on Saturday 8 October 2016, with qualifying sessions from 8:30 to 10:00 am. Regular updates from the race will be posted on FALKEN’s Facebook page.
