BTCC: Rockingham Weekend Preview

The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship continues this weekend at the Rockingham Circuit in Corby,Northamptonshire.


After a weekend of Diamond Jubilee celebrations last time out at Snetterton, it's still firmly all to play for with four weekends remaining in this super close BTCC season.

The Rockingham crowd will be used to seeing pivotal moments in the championship unfold and this year looks set to be no different.

As things stand, Tom Ingram leads the standings by 9 points from Colin Turkington, who endured a tough weekend in Norfolk. Matt Neal's race three win last time out has hauled him up the standings and now sits in third, just 16 points adrift of the Speedworks Toyota man.

Jack Goff put himself back into title contention after a superb performance including that epic race one victory where he snatched the top spot away from a charging Ashley Sutton.

Josh Cook continues to impress and his consistency has seen him jump up the standings to fifth place and could be an outside bet after this weekend. Andrew Jordan, Ashley Sutton, Tom Chilton, Adam Morgan and Sam Tordoff round out the championship top ten.

With almost 270 points still to play for in this years championship and with the midfield being so competitive, the shake up that this season has shown, could have a massive effect on the outcome of this weekend and indeed this championship.


With the circuit providing great views of the circuit from its huge grandstands, it is sure to be a busy one and they will be in for a treat come Sunday.
