Audi respond to rumours of them leaving sports car racing

Following a report on the 14th of October by Autocar that "Audi is set to withdraw from the World Endurance Championship, ending its long association with the Le Mans 24 hour race by ceasing its LMP1 motorsport operations, according to rumours circulating at its Ingolstadt headquarters in Germany"

Prescott Motorsport have received comment from Audi as follows "Every year in autumn, the Board of Management of AUDI AG decides on the motorsport program for the subsequent year" says WEC and Le Mans spokesperson Eva-Maria Becker, she adds "The decision on the future direction will be taken shortly, then Audi will announce its motorsport program for the next season."

So it would appear that no decision has yet been made yet, we await the board meeting to see which or of a VAG brand is to leave LMP1 racing.
