90 Seconds with Manor Driver, Matt Rao
What would you be if not a racing driver?
I think with my degree the ideal choice would be to go and be an engineer but since my family has a slight obsession with the aviation industry, I think I'd have ended up as a fighter pilot.
Do you have any pre-race superstitions?
Not just for pre race but I always put my left sock on first, I don't know why but it's something my brother once told me was lucky and I've done it ever since.
What is your favourite racing circuit?
It's a little car dependant, in the LMP2 Le Mans was spectacular and a real pleasure to drive, but in something with a little less power and less grip a place like Oulton park is fantastic.
Who do you admire the most?
I'd have to say my parents, they've worked so hard to give my family and I a great opportunity and great head start and I can't thank them enough for allowing me to pursue my dreams.
Favourite food?
That's another one where it really depends on what I'm craving, sushi and Japanese good is always a favourite of mine, but I won't say no to a really good Indian.
Which other series would you like to race in?
Racing in the WEC was always a dream of mine but if I were to choose another series it would be DTM or V8 Supercars.
What road car do you drive?
I drive a 135i Bmw 1 series coupe.
Most memorable racing moment?
Racing at Le Mans was a real bucket list moment, even though it was a great race in the end I don't think I'll ever forget that week.
Do you have any tattoo's, if so what and where (be honest!)?
No ink on me Unfortunately
