90 Seconds with BSB rider Jake Dixon

What would you be if not a racing driver?

My Dad got me into racing -  he was 2 times Sidecar World Champion and British Superbike Champion, so it was inevitable that I was going to ride bikes, he's got me to where I am today.

Do you have any pre-race superstitions?

I always dress left side first, it's a thing I have had going since winning my first race!

What is your favourite racing circuit?

My favourite circuit in the UK is Donnington Park, and I want to race round Mugello in Italy one day.

Who do you admire the most?

My idol is Valentino Rossi - what he has done within the sport and his motivation to still race at the age he is, for me he is the greatest of all time.

Favourite food?

Well I love pasta, so some form of pasta dish.

Which other series would you like to race in?

MotoGP and be World Champion as that is the pinnacle of my sport.

What road car do you drive?

I drive around in a van, but of a weekend me and my Miss have a BMW 4 series, but she takes that to work so I'm left with the van in the week lol!

Most memorable racing moment?

Winning my first ever race in the British Super Stock 600 Championship.

Do you have any tattoo's, if so what and where (be honest!)?

No, I have thought about it but never got one.....

Dixon joined the Lee Hardy Racing team for a two day test at Snetterton prior to round 4 at Knockhill, the test came about as Dixon had parted with his previous team due to various reasons. Dixon had never ridden a Superbike machine before the test and spent most of his earlier years within the Supersport Championship. Dixon’s progression from 600cc machinery on to the 1000cc Superbike came with ease, his pace was very strong and proved he had the skills required to race in and around some of the world’s Elite that make up the grid within the British Superbike Championship. The team have announced that they have signed Dixon for the remainder of this season and 2017.
