Ginetta confirm Mecachrome as engine supplier for their LMP1

Ginetta is delighted to today (28/02/2017) confirm the appointment of leading engine builder Mecachrome to supply engines for the forthcoming Ginetta LMP1 car.

Ewan Baldry, Ginetta Technical Director visited Mechachrome’s head office in Aubigny Sur Nere, France earlier this month was impressed by the facility. Having already undertaken durability testing on the engine at forecasted horsepower levels, it was clear the team have the experience, expertise and production facilities to deliver a front running engine.

Initial CFD testing is set to take place in the near future, with aerodynamic surface design progressing well. Elsewhere, Ginetta is currently in the process of finalising the details on all other elements of the programme, which will be announced in due course.
