What would you be if not a racing driver?

 

I would be some sort of athlete in another sport.  That’s always been the dream and what I have dedicated my life to.  I’m just thankful that it worked out so far in motorsports!! 

 

Do you have any pre-race superstitions?

 

I don’t really to be honest.  I just try and do a quick meditation to clear my mind and focus in on the task at hand.  I’m too busy getting ready to go to have any superstitions!

 

What is your favourite racing circuit?

 

Road Atlanta, Mosport, Kyalami! I can’t pick just one.  I know Kyalami has recently changed quite a lot with Porsche buying the circuit and really updating it and changing the layout a bit.  I have yet to see it in person, but I can’t wait!! 

 

Who do you admire the most?

 

Oh man, I have such a long list that I could write a book on this!  I guess I would say the person I looked up to the most in life was Nelson Mandela.  What he was able to overcome and achieve is just mind blowing.

 

Favourite food?

 

Mexican or Boerewors! (A South African sausage)

 

Which other series would you like to race in?

 

I would like to drive pretty much anything!  I absolutely love driving in IMSA, but I would love the opportunity to drive in the World Endurance Championship,  Redbull Global Rallycross, Pirelli World Challenge, Blancpain, GT Master, NASCAR, Indy Car… Pretty much anything!

 

What road car do you drive?

 

I drive an Audi S3 - Best brand of car there is! 

 

Most memorable racing moment?

 

Winning the 2013 Daytona 24 Hour, my first and Audi’s first win in that famed race.  Will never forget that! 

 

Do you have any tattoo's, if so what and where (be honest!)?

 

I don’t, but I’m definitely not opposed to getting one!  Just waiting for the right time in life!
