The evolution of the Le Mans Circuit continues

With the final phase of the works at the Porsche Curves complete, there have been many other improvements made by the ACO and the Syndicat Mixte.

Two slogans for Ghislain Robert, COA Events and Infrastructure Manager: "Safety and Welcoming the Public". All the work done this year goes in this direction. First of all, with the last phase of the Porsche corner safety work (site started in 2015), under the contract of the Syndicat mixte. A large right turn exit corner was created at the junction with the White House circuit.

Still under the auspices of the Syndicat mixte, work has made the circuit even more accessible to people with disabilities (ramps, toilets ...). And, for ever more safety for pilots, protective panels were installed in front of the Hunaudières restaurants.

Other work has been done, this time under ACO's project management. An achievement of magnitude concerns the displacement of the starting line of 145 meters. Effective for a few months already, this decision was taken to align the competitors on the pit straight, for a better comfort of the spectators in the stands. A new topographic survey confirms the length of the circuit at 13,626 meters.

During the race, the commissaires will use new light panels, connected to the race direction. The technical teams also realized a service access arrangement on certain commissioner positions. In addition, 266 trees have been planted, the 8,000 m2 site that hosts the new Fan Zone has been landscaped with free WiFi access, and a new Total gantry will soon make its appearance at the Mulsanne bend.

These facilities benefit all the actors of the famous race: from the pilots to the volunteers and the spectators to the residents!
