DTM: R-Motorsport leaves after one season

Following HWA's announcement it stops the cooperation with R-Motorsport, the team itself decided to quit DTM after one year. This means there will be no Aston Martin chassis on the DTM grid in 2020. The grid will now most likely consist of 14 cars: 6 factory entries from both manufacturers Audi and BMW, and two customer-Audis from the WRT-team.

The official reason for R-Motorsport to call it quits is due to a reassessment of its motorsport strategy. If we take in consideration that the engines of the cars were supplied by HWA and the new direction Aston Martin is headed for (F1, also the reason the Le Mans project was put in the fridge), this decision might not come as a surprise.
