It took a while and some sceptics even wondered if they would make it in time, but yesterday R-Motorsport had the first roll-out of their new Aston Martin DTM contender at Jerez de la Frontera.

Paul Di Resta had the honour to steer the brand new Aston over the former GP-circuit for the very first time and commented that the car "immediately felt good".

The car was built by Vynamic (joint venture between R Motorsport and HWA AG) in a record time of just 90 days. It had to be lengthened, widened and fitted with a 2 litre turbo engine just behind the front-axle to adhere to the 2019 DTM rulebook.

The first official DTM-test starts today (Tuesday). Paul Di Resta will drive the car today and tomorrow, before Jake Dennis (Thursday) and Ferdinand Habsburg (Friday) take over the wheel.
